Exercise Therapy

Exercise Therapy is a set of repetitive stretching, strengthening, or conditioning movements designed to help weakened or injured muscle groups that support the spine and extremities. The joints of the spine and extremities are held together by muscles and ligaments. Proper motion and position of these joints are crucial for proper nervous system function, correct posture, and optimum health. Exercises and repeated motions help develop these connective tissues.

Exercise Therapy is necessary for many patients because of fibrotic scar tissue that is present due to injury or chronic poor posture. A carefully designed program of stretches and/or exercises help rehabilitate these damaged tissues.

Restoring function to these damaged muscles and ligaments takes time. However a specific program for each patient can help speed the recovery process, stabilize the spine or extremities, and help prevent a relapse.

Patient Benefits

Exercise Therapy increases range of motion, re-educates injured muscles, strengthens spinal/joint structures, speeds rehabilitation, and helps chiropractic adjustments hold longer.
